Psychotherapy

Therapy can be helpful for a variety of struggles as it provides a safe, confidential space to discuss and explore what is going on in your life.

I specialize in working with adults, especially women, who are struggling with low self confidence, anxiety/stress, work life balance, perfectionism, and a harsh internal critic using Relational Psychodynamic therapy, and a Feminist and Narrative perspective combined with evidenced based interventions to help my clients make progress and find more joy in their life.

My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I am collaborative, relational and empathic and all of my work is from a trauma informed care lens. I most frequently use Relational Psychodynamic Therapy, a Feminist perspective, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness Based interventions. These types of therapy help me understand my client’s life and worldview through stories and their history, and provide them with evidenced based tools to address acute symptoms while we engage in depth work surrounding their relationships, past and present.

My communication style is warm, empathic and respectful. I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore any aspect of your life.

Virtual & In Person

Virtual sessions are conducted on secure video platform from the comfort of your own home or where you find solitude and quiet. COVID has changed how services can be offered and Telehealth has been a unique and sometimes convenient platform for therapy.

I am in the process of offering in person session in the Berkeley/Albany area, if interested please reach out for more information.

“Walk & Talk” Nature Therapy

This unique model of therapy allows us to meet outdoors and walk various trails while we talk. This model incorporates some traditional therapy interventions as well as nature therapy and movement making it a distinctive therapy experience. Location of meeting, COVID policy and more are discussed during an initial virtual intake. Schedule a free initial call to learn more!

Getting Started

We will begin with an initial 15 minute phone conversation free of charge. During the call we will discuss more about what you are looking for as well as have time for me to answer any questions that you have.

For the first three sessions we will continue to get to know each other and talk more about what you hope to get out of therapy. This will also give us a chance to ensure that we are a good fit to work together.

Fees and Insurance

Please contact me for my current fee. My fees are comparable to other Licensed Psychologist in the area.

I am not currently “in-network” with any insurance company so payment is all “out-of-pocket” or private pay. You can contact your insurance company and inquire about what their reimbursement plan is for “out-of-network” mental health providers. If they do have a reimbursement plan, this would look like you paying the session fee to me and then submitting a statement or super bill, which I will provide to you, to your insurance company and getting a percentage of the session fee reimbursed back to you. Please ask your insurance company for all the details about their “out-of-network” provider plan so you can be fully informed.
